Lifestyle guilt – Will I ever achieve copper cup ownership?

26 Feb

“I usually wake up at 6:30am, and start with some Kundalini meditation and a 23-minute breath set—along with a copper cup of silver needle and calendula tea—before my son Rohan wakes.” Amanda Chantal

Just as I was feeling proud that I’d managed to put foundation and deodorant on and get myself and my daughter out of the door on time, this popped up on my newsfeed.

Is this normal? Because if it is, I’ve failed spectacularly as a mother, a woman and an eater of food. Why don’t I have a copper cup?

Anyway, in this age of sharing, I felt it only right to share my own daily routine.

2012 in review

2 Jan

It’s 2013 y’all! I hope you all had a fab and festive break. I for one ate way too much given I have a wedding dress to cram myself into.

2012 was a big year – I planned 99% of a wedding (although this percentage keeps diminishing as I realise how much I have forgotten to sort out), and started my first blog.

So, if I have made a new year’s resolution it’s to not completely lose myself to the curse of bridezilla. There’s only two months to go until D and I’s big day (ARGH!), so keep an eye out for new posts and judge for yourself whether I have fallen victim to the curse.

Until then, here’s a lovely report from WordPress featuring pretty fireworks. Enjoy!

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 6,700 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 11 years to get that many views.

Stressed? Don’t go to a wedding fayre

9 Feb

I recently attended my first wedding fayre – an occasion I was sure would teach me many valuable things about planning a wedding. It did – don’t go to wedding fayres.

Do soap operas lie?

5 Feb

OK, the above question is pretty easy to answer – of course they lie. The main aim is to be unbelievable. Case 1: Three women (three!) fighting for the affections of John Stape in Coronation Street. Case 2: Sam Michell having sported at least two different heads – an abnormality none of the residents of Albert Square have ever commented on. Case 3: Hollyoaks.

Share, don’t compare

26 Jan

This post is something of a continuation of the last. While then I spoke about how magazines and blogs can make you feel panicked by telling you all of the things you should be doing, they can also invoke the green eyed monster.
