Don’t worry – I’m not really here. I promised once I was no longer a guilt-edged bride there would be no more Guilt-Edged Bride, and I’m sticking to that. Except…
What I’ve learnt
19 FebSo, this is my last post as the Guilt-Edged Bride. The next time I write I will be the Guild-Edged Wife and I will finally be able to share some actual details of D and I’s wedding, rather than going about it all like I’m on the FBI’s witness protection list.
So, as this blog bows out, I thought I would share with you a few of the things I have learnt during my time as a fiancée (one of those things being how to spell fiancée).
Wedding event horizon: the dress
28 NovThe bridal gown. It’s the garment most girls imagine from the time they are old enough to have an imagination. The thing a bride-to-be will spend the longest time obsessing over. The thing wedding blogs and magazines spend the most time gushing over. The thing that will most likely be the headline act of your big day (unless you’re having a cake made entirely out of cheese, in which case you’ll have stiff competition).
Body shock
19 JulAt the gym this week, I overheard a woman complaining she had “lopsided back fat”, which goes to prove that no one can put a girl down more than herself.
Never is this more the case than when you’re about to get married. Despite someone telling you that they love you so much they want to spend every day of the rest of their life looking at your face (well, not quite, but the sentiment is there) as you approach the day itself you enter into a spiral of self-doubt and borderline body dysmorphia.
